YANGON ANIMAL SHELTER
Our goal is to help control the overwhelming population of stray dogs in Yangon. Poisoning the dogs has been a widely used method used in an effort to decrease the population, however, this has been proven to be an ineffective method and has no impact on the issue. The only way to control the population is by spaying and neutering dogs to prevent unwanted puppies. Even by just spaying or neutering a dog and then returning it to the streets, it is ensured that it will no longer have puppies and the cycle will stop. We aim to educate people about the importance of spaying and neutering stray dogs as well as their own pets.
Did you know? In just 6 years, one female dog and her offspring can produce 67,000 puppies!
